Allow Me to Re-Introduce Myself, My Name Is…

Rookerville??

I guess it doesn’t have the same ring as the hit Jay-Z song.  Sue me I guess. It’s been a fast 3 and a half months.  When I started this site I didn’t expect it to go this well this fast.  I’ve been beyond lucky with the players I acquired in the internet talent draft (this exists, I swear).  Credit to the writers as they’ve had a lot faith in me to create something legit.  To be honest, the first day the site went live, I kind of regretted it, immediately thinking :”Fuck! Now I have to keep this up.”  But it’s been a great experience so far, and everyone on the site has stepped up and done their part to help.  Beyond the writers I have to thank all the early adopters, and readers. Now that the revamped look is up I can’t believe you were dealing with the cluttered mess before.  That’s why I pushed so hard to get this done so quickly.  I wanted to make sure those taking time to read to the site were rewarded with a better experience.

Now to the good stuff.

The new layout seemed like a natural progression from what the site was built on before.  We want you to have access to the most relevant content without overloading you.  Now rather than a load of images through out the page we have the 3 featured boxes under what I’m deeming the “front page” slider.  The result is the fact that you’re actually getting more articles on the first page and it actually feels lighter than before.  We’ll continue to tweak and manage the site to hopefully make the experience better and better.

We’ve got some good updates coming down the pipeline very soon.  We’ll be adding an author page so you can better get to know the people you are reading.  In the coming month we also hope to launch the Rookerville Spotify account, which will allow people to connect with our writers a bit more as they’ll be able to subscribe to any one of our playlists we’ve created.  Also we hope to finally start filling that empty void known as podcasts.  On the more logistical side of things we’ll slowly be migrating over to a facebook comment systems, adding a few more writers to the team, and adding place to directly contact us at the site.

Again hopefully this makes the whole experience better for all.

Editor in Chief,

P.S. yes that’s Chris Jericho in the picture, and being how close he seems to the logo, we’re totally cool being his unofficial sponsors.
