NBA Notes: 1st Month (Eastern Conference)

Overview Coming into the season, the East was supposed to be much stronger this year. Derrick Rose was returning for the Chicago Bulls, the Brooklyn Nets made big acquisitions in the offseason, and the New York Knicks had resurgence last season. However, these teams have not been good so far and the East has become a two team race between the Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat. The rest of the conference is mired in mediocrity at this...

Baseball 2013 Final Report Card (National League)

NL East 1. Atlanta Braves (96-66) I love the Braves pitching. Their starters are all young, power pitchers that have shown signs they can be aces. Julio Teheran and Mike Minor took steps forward. Baseball 2013 Final Report Card (American League)

AL East 1. Boston Red Sox (97-65) The Red Sox went from worst to first in a year. Moreover, they brought the third World Series title since 2004 to the Fenway Faithful. They did it impressively beating the Tampa Bay Rays, Detroit Tigers, and St. Louis Cardinals. Moreover, they did it after the tragedy of the Boston Marathon bombing at the beginning of the year.   Atlantic 1. Brooklyn Nets I absolutely love the trade the Nets made with the Boston Celtics in the offseason bringing in Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Jason Terry. It adds to an already strong core with Deron Williams, Brook Lopez, and Joe Johnson. While the Nets were criticized for a lack of toughness last year, Pierce and Garnett will quickly remedy that issue. If they were still in their prime, this team would be a...
