The Challenge – Exes 2 Rankings: Week Three

The Challenge – Exes 2 Rankings: Week Three

battle-of-the-exes-2

First Impressions Are:  It looked like a heavy Diem/CT episode, so that sucked.  Diem kicked the episode off by going to the hospital, with the producers telling CT that because he’s drunk he can’t go to the hospital.  I didn’t like this at all.  AT ALL.  The next day, things seemed to get worse. TJ coming into the house has almost never been a good thing.  CT was sent home as a result of Diem’s cancer and the episode continued along as normal.  Weird vibes all around.

The First Challenge: On Again, Off Again

There was a giant structure with a zipline that was to spin the competitors 30 feet up in the air.  The goal was to hold on to the zipline to get as close to a red buoy as possible.  Then swim to that buoy and around it,and hit a bell that signaled you were done, back at the shore.  Super standard challenge fare.  The biggest change was the spinning that happened on the zipline.  Puke city.

The Power Couple: Sarah & Jordan (This is a great next power couple.  Loving that it has been a different winner and agenda each time).

The Losers: Simone & John (Don’t care).

The Vote: The coolest part about Sarah & Jordan winning was that they know the game within the game.  They knew that they had to play both sides of the Bananas/Wes feud to get through this vote safely without any added targets on their back.  Sarah may have become the tonic to cure the idiocy of Jordan’s hubris.  The best part of their vote was having Jordan say that everyone wanted to see an Are You The One elimination.  Gauntlet set: Brittany & Adam V. Simone & John

The Dome: He Said, She Said

The teams were going to bet on how much of a certain food, their partner could eat in three minutes.  If the opposing team thought their player could eat more, they would up the ante.  And so on and so forth.  Once the betting stops, the highest better was to eat.  If the eater was successful they earned a point.  If they didn’t, the other team got the point.  It was a three round event.   The first round food was Brownies.  The second round food was Yucca sticks.  The third round food was Patacones (fried plaintains).   Overall it was pathetic how poorly both teams did not only betting, but also eating.

Winners:

Power Couple Rankings

1. Nany & Bananas –  Any chance I can see Bananas in a position of discomfort is awesome.

2. Theresa & Wes –  Theresa has more to say about things that have nothing to do with her than anyone maybe in Challenge history.

3. Sarah & Jordan – First time ever that Sarah really showed any sort of non-puzzle based Challenge progress.  Jordan was a monster as I’d have expected.

4. Jonna & Zach –  Jonna is really feeling her emotions this season.

5. Averey & Johnny  They are rising a spot this week because I think they’re mutual dislike is going to thaw and they both are natural competitors.

6. Nia & Leroy –  Way to hold it down for the black swimmers…But I appreciate Leroy calling out these Are You The One Bitches for having NO sense of urgency whatsoever.

7. Jemmye & Knight –  Where were you a lifeguard Jemmye? A Kiddie Pool!?!?! ( I can do better I swear).

8. Jenna & Jay – I feel like they will be going home next.  Not a lot of dead weight left.

9. Brittany & Adam – I thought Simone and John were terrible, but good god, these kids hooking up this early is such a rookie move.

RIP Diem

1. Diem & CT – This was awful.  I get that they had to get through the season, but god this was terrible.

The Biggest Losers

1Simone & John –  This team has the least amount of physical prowess maybe ever.  And Simone’s brownie gaffe? I’m happy we don’t have to deal with these losers again.

Second Impressions Are:  The Are You The One experiment will hopefully end this season.  Because these guys don’t come up in a realistic Challenge farm system, they really don’t have any business on the show.  BRING BACK ROAD RULES.
